Transport-related Social Exclusion Webinar #3

You are invited to attend the next session in our Transport-Related Social Exclusion (TRSE) webinar series, focused on strengthening engagement approaches when developing policies and plans. This will be hosted by James Gleave, TfSE’s Transport Strategy Manager. James brings extensive experience in tackling TRSE, as demonstrated in his work shaping the missions within Transport for the South East’s (TfSE) Transport Strategy. In the session, we aim to cover: • Learn useful methods for reaching underrepresented groups • Understand the difference between consulting with communities and co-creating with them • Explore how to balance trade-offs between available resources, time constraints, and meaningful engagement This webinar has been designed specifically for officers with an emerging capability in TRSE, following the April 2024 capability survey. It aims to support progression to a more proficient level of practice. The session will begin by outlining different approaches to community engagement, followed by a discussion on the benefits of meaningful co-creation. We will conclude by sharing practical lessons learned from TfSE’s recent Transport Strategy Refresh Programme, including engagement with protected and diverse user groups. Previous Sessions: • Introduction to TRSE – Covering the needs of users with protected characteristics • Deeper Dive into Engagement – Sharing insights from TfSE’s engagement work Recordings of both sessions are available on the Centre of Excellence website. The session will be recorded for future reference. However, the Q&A portion at the end will not be recorded to encourage open and honest discussion. We hope you can join us for this important and practical session.
